Pre-Care

Permanent Make-Up
Pre-Care

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

Following these pre-care instructions is essential for achieving the best possible results from your procedure.

Important Medical Policy: Certain health conditions require a physician's clearance before your procedure. To avoid a same-day cancellation and the loss of your booking deposit, please ensure any required medical notes are submitted before your appointment time.

Have existing permanent make-up? Because working over previous PMU requires specialized techniques and approval, all existing work must be reviewed in advance. If you arrive with undisclosed previous work, it will result in the cancellation of your appointment and the loss of your deposit.

Please be sure you are overall healthy and in a good condition to receive a permanent cosmetic procedure. This can not only effect pain levels but also your healing process.

Day of Service: Do not exercise, tan, or arrive with a sunburned face. Avoid coffee, aspirin, and ibuprofen.

24 Hours Before: Avoid alcohol and caffeine.

1 Week Before: Stop taking fish oil or Vitamin E, and do not thread, wax, tint, or tweeze the procedure area.

3 Weeks Before: Avoid electrolysis, fillers/injections, and any type of facial procedure.

1 Month Before: Discontinue all Vitamin A and Retinol products.

• Chronic skin complications: (i.e. eczema, psoriasis, keratosis pilaris, and dermatitis of the face) may have skin in a constant state of unrest and shedding. Please reach out to your Specialist if you have any chronic skin conditions immediately.
• Sensitive Skin, Chronic Acne, or Rosacea: These skin conditions are more prone to easy bleeding and fluid production during the procedure, which can lead to lighter pigment retention. An additional touch-up session may be required.
• Oily Skin Types: Because excess oil can cause crisp microblading strokes to blur or fade prematurely, traditional microblading is generally not recommended for oily skin.
• Skin Anomalies & Textures: Existing scarring, moles, bumps, piercings, or deep wrinkles in the procedure area can cause the pigment to heal unevenly.
Accutane: You must be off of Accutane for at least 1 year prior to your procedure.
• Medical Conditions & Eligibility: Clients with medical conditions such as (but not limited to) diabetes, autoimmune diseases, thyroid issues, bleeding disorders, heart conditions, keloid scarring, blood pressure irregularities, or circulatory issues, must obtain written clearance from their physician. Please forward your doctor's note to prior to your appointment.
Pregnancy & Nursing: For your safety and the safety of your baby, permanent makeup cannot be performed if you are currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Chemotherapy or Radiation: For your safety and healing, you must complete all treatment sessions and obtain written clearance from your oncologist before booking a permanent makeup procedure.
• Trichotillomania or Dermatillomania: Skin picking and hair pulling can cause localized texture changes or micro-scarring in the skin. Because scar tissue holds pigment differently and can affect how evenly your color heals, a doctor's clearance is required before booking.
Anemia: Iron deficiency and anemia can impact the skin's healing process and blood clotting, which can occasionally lead to lighter or less predictable pigment retention. Please keep in mind that an additional touch-up session may be necessary.

FOR LIP BLUSH CLIENTS:

Lip blush is not recommended for cigarette smokers. Smoking reduces blood circulation in the lips, which can cause poor healing and patchy pigment retention.

Client's with a history of Cold Sore's must consult their doctor before booking

For optimal results please gently exfoliate your lips the week of your procedure (cane sugar and coconut oil, or any mild lip scrubs can be used)

Keep your lips consistently moisturized and drink plenty of water the week of your procedure
